The German Pinscher Club
The only kennel club recognised breed club for German Pinschers in the UK.
By now you will have been notified by our club e-news letter that the KC have given permission to change some club rules. We’ve had some criticism over the past year that we have not health tested our dogs. With a small amount of puppies bread in this country we have waited until our AGM to change our rules, Note: puppies that have been bred the owners have had them health tested. Any other puppies bred will most probably never enter the gene pool in the UK.
Just a little on the club rules. The committee submitted to the AGM an age limit for dogs to be used at stud. It was agreed that 24 months would be the age for stud dogs to be used as bitches are also currently 24 months. This gives you time to asses yours dogs and their temperaments and to have all health tests done. .........
We have gone by our club rules to make these changes.
11.2.5 All breeding stock should be mandatory tested for hips, eyes, VWD & heart due to KC health requirements before breeding.
11.2.7 All dogs offered at stud should be of 24 months old and in good health and free from communicatable disease and will not mate a bitch in contravention of Club Rules.
This was passed unanimously by officers, committee and members of the German Pinscher Club.
Health testing, now this is come into line by the KC guidelines fit for function to make all breeds healthier for the future.
At any time any changes to club rules or items for the agenda must be sent to the secretary for the agenda for the annual general meeting (AGM)
Or if it is a very important item then a special general meeting can be called.
Rules in a club are very important as they give the club good guidelines to follow and if you stick to them you cannot go wrong.
Now the important thing is that everyone should be working towards the German Pinscher and it’s future it is an old and noble dog, which we are trying to make this breed better for the future. The breed is a great pleasure to own, healthy, great fun and good to live with.
I would like to thank everybody for their continued support.
